QDIA Guidelines Under the PPA: Establishing & Monitoring Default Investment Options
Course Description:
If you’re like most employers, you’re genuinely confused about what to do with Qualified Default Investment Alternatives (QDIAs). But, if you don’t understand the new guidance and comply with its provisions you won’t get the benefit of the protections it offers.
When QDIAs came to be in December of 2007 it launched a new decade for defined contribution plans. These plans relieve participants from making complex investment choices and take liability away from plan sponsors.
QDIAs also allow advisors to select and manage QDIAs on behalf of participants and plan sponsors. But, in order to realize the full benefits of QDIAs, the plans must be carefully selected, managed, and monitored.
Find out how the DOL’s guidance affects participants, plan sponsors, advisors and providers in this invaluable CCM audio conference. Learn best practice strategies for ensuring compliance when establishing and maintaining a QDIA. In just 75 minutes, you’ll also discover:
- QDIA rules and disclosure requirements created by the Pension Protection Act of 2006 (PPA)
- Complete update on advice provisions of the PPA
- Clarified issues covered in the Field Assistance Bulletin No. 2008-03
- An explanation of the key features of QDIAs
- Which types of plans can obtain fiduciary protection under the qualified default
- Tips and techniques for selecting and monitoring a QDIA
- Pre-packaged QDIAs: Are they a good option?
You’ll also get the answers to your specific questions in the interactive Q&A session.
